Tamara Garnault, Project Coordinator, has spent nearly 16 years in education, where she has taught a variety of courses including A Levels, GCSE, BTEC and both Key and Functional Skills in the UK. She was also an examiner of Media Studies A’ Level qualifications for the WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee) Examinations Board for 5 years. Tamara works for ALW as a Curriculum Development Coordinator, arranging courses in a wide variety of subjects from Cookery and Sewing to Counselling Skills and Paediatric First Aid. She is also the Health and Well-being Champion for Adult Learning Wales. As part of this role, Tamara has gained qualifications in Trauma Informed Practice, Trauma Recovery Model training and Counselling Skills and is part of the team that is making Adult Learning Wales a Trauma Informed Organisation.
Before working in education, Tamara worked for the Arts Council of Wales as the Assistant Drama Officer, and ran an independent theatre company called Wales Actors’ Company, which toured Wales, Ireland and Scotland. She has an MA in Theatre and Media Studies.
