Naseem

I would like to recall a bloody and unforgettable incident during my mission in the ministry of interior of Afghanistan. It happened on18th December 2016.The lieutenant general Kohistani, who was general director of general directorate prison and detention centre of Afghanistan and I a chief of staff, along with a group of representatives of the justice and judicial departments were assigned, based on the instructions of the president and ministry of interior, to control and inspect all the provincial prisons of north Afghanistan.
One day, as planned, we travelled from Balkhash province to Faryab province. Kohistani and I were in a bulletproof vehicle. The other vehicles that should have gone with us were arranged in such a way that a vehicle was in the first line and our vehicle was in the second place and the other vehicles followed us, but unfortunately terrorists groups were aware of the trip and the arrangement of vehicles and they were reported that two generals are in the second vehicle.
By the chance, in one of district of the Jawzjan province another bulletproof vehicle like ours joined our group to provide better security and it followed the first vehicle.
With the arrival of this vehicle, our vehicle became the third in the line. Since the terrorist groups were given information that two important generals were in in the second vehicle, they had placed roadside mines in the Dawlatabad district near the Faryab that were exploded with remote control.
When we arrived there, according to the report they targeted the second vehicle and exploded the placed mine. In the result of explosion colonel Naser and other officers got injured, but they survived.
