Grandma

Daria writes about her grandmother who was such an important part of her Polish childhood.

Grandma
People say God couldn’t be everywhere so He created Grandma.
She is a home my always safe place.
She is the smell of rolls my woolly pair of gloves.
Together in the rain and in the hottest summer
When Mum and Dad at work she always had time for us.
Even silver hair like bright moonlight
In Grandma’s eye all clear although time has blurred so much.
Grandma was always there where we needed her
Protect our dreams from the worst nightmare.
I will always remember these hours together
So I’m happy to say I’ll love you forever.
